Catherine and Davie chose different flavours for each of the 3 tiers ...
A base tier of vanilla sponge layered with vanilla buttercream, with a middle tier of luxurious chocolate sponge infused with Baileys Irish Cream Whiskey and a chocolate Baileys buttercream. The top tier was a deliciously creamy 'Just Bailey's' sponge cake layered with a Baileys flavoured buttercream.
Catherine chose a romantic and pretty design in pale ivory decorated with beautiful complimentary shades of soft peach and cream roses. Accents of kiwi, peach and cream hydrangeas and sprigs of white blossoms added to the delicate look of this cake.
For the base of their 3 tier wedding cake Leanne and Ben chose a traditional rich fruit cake crammed with vine fruits soaked in dark rum and infused with the juice and zest of fresh orange and lemons.
A middle tier of a 'Just Baileys' sponge layered with a luxurious Baileys buttercream and a top tier of Lime and Lemon sponge made with the juice and zest of fresh organic limes, layered with a tangy lemon & lime curd buttercream completed the flavours.
Leanne and Ben were a great couple to work with and had very definite ideas in mind for their wedding cake They originally came to me with a couple of pictures of cake designs that they liked and we worked together taking inspiration from the two cakes to acheive the final design, The colours were chosen to complement the floral arrangements and the butterflies to tie in with the theme of the wedding.
For the base of their 3 tier wedding cake Nicola and Justin chose a deliciously creamy 'Just Bailey's' sponge cake layered with a Baileys flavoured buttercream.
Two tiers of 'chocolate orange dream' sponge, made with the freshly squeezed juice and zest of organic oranges and layered with a chocolate orange buttercream completed the flavours of Nicola and Justin's wedding cake.
Nicola chose a romantic vintage style cake design decorated with a delicate ivory lace, pearl beading, handmade sugar roses and edible pearls. The colours of the roses and leaves were the wedding theme colours of rose pink, cream and mint.
Nicola wanted to add a persoanl touch to the cake for Justin and we decided that as he is a keen traveller a 'cake tag' (representative of a luggage tag) would be an ideal way to incorporate his interests into the cake design. Nicola being a graphic designer came up with the perfect design which fitted the cake beautifully.
