Wedding Cakes and Celebration Cakes for Special Occasions in and around West Yorkshire
Of course, I am more than happy to work to a given budget provided the budget is realistic ~ i.e. I cannot make a celebration cake to serve 50 people for £50 or likewise can I provide a 3 tier stacked cake with bride and groom topper and a cascade of full bloom roses for less than £400.
These are unrealistic expectations and what many don't realise is that the majority of the overall cost of a bespoke cake is in the design, preparation, planning and the many many hours of work it can take to create the finished cake. A cake isn't just made up of the ingredients and it really isn't 'only a sponge', it takes time, skill and experience built up over a number of years to create 'just a sponge cake'.
However, you could still have a fabulous cake on a smaller budget ~ consider commissioning a cake with fewer details or a smaller cake with less portions to suit your available budget. You can still 'have your cake and eat it too'. Please contact me to discuss your budget/portion requirements
All cakes are made to individual request and are priced in accordance to the design and amount of work involved ~ therefore even the same size and shape of cake will vary in price according to the design.
Please see Basic Cake Prices for guidance as to how much you may need to budget for a cake. Basic wedding cake prices are for an iced cake decorated with ribbon to coordinate with your theme. Additional decorations such as sugar flowers, intricate piped designs, characters models, bride and groom etc. are in addition to the stated prices. Celebration cake prices are for a basic iced and decorated cake i.e a short message/name/age etc. and a simple design such as a few hearts, circles, cut out flowers etc. Cakes with more intricate designs, wired sugar flowers, starbursts, models or personalised characters etc. will cost more.
For a personalised quotation please contact us using the cake enquiry form. Please try to give as many details as possible to help with your enquiry.
Wedding Cakes ~ Minimum notice
A minimum of 3 months notice is generally required for wedding cakes but 6 to 12 months notice is advisable, as dates can fill up really quickly,
However I may still be able to schedule a cake at shorter notice if I have space in my diary ~ please do contact me to find out.
Non-Wedding Cakes ~ Minimum notice
A minimum of 2 weeks is generally required for all other cakes, but dates are often booked well in advance of this so please do try to book early.
Cakes can often be accommodated with less notice if I have a bit of space in my diary, but this will depend on the design required as even very basic cakes need 3 days to be baked and decorated. Cakes with wired sugar flowers or complex models will require longer.
No cake order will be confirmed as a booking until the deposit has been received ~ all deposits are non-refundable.
Of course. The design possibilities are virtually endless, just let me know what it is that you want and I will let you know if this is something that I can do. S
I am happy to use other designers work as inspiration but cannot replicate a specific cake design unless permission has been granted by the designer of that cake.
However, I am can 'borrow' elements from one or more cakes and use these to inspire a cake created especially for you.
Sorry but I do not ice or decorate cakes which have been made by someone else as I cannot personally guarantee either the freshness or the quality of the cake and should anyone be unfortunate enough to suffer any ill effects my insurance would be invalidated.
Nut Allergy ~ Although my sponge cakes do not contain nuts and every precaution is taken to avoid cross contamination, I am unable to guarantee that any cake is NUT FREE as I do not bake in a nut free kitchen.
The most convenient and often the quickest way is to use the Cake Enquiry Form giving as many details as possible ~ if you prefer to speak to someone please note that the questions on the enquiry page are often the questions you would be asked if you were to contact us by phone.
Of course I would be delighted to have a chat with you, however if you would like to arrange a consultation please note that I only offer a FREE appointment if your wedding date and venue are already booked or if you have already paid the £50 date reservation fee. If you would still like to have a consultation but haven't yet arranged your date and venue or are just 'shopping around' for ideas a pre-paid consultation fee of £25 will apply to cover my time and costs. This fee is refundable against the cost of your wedding cake should you choose to order it from me.
Informal consultations are offered via telephone/email for those who wish to discuss details further before reserving a date.
Delivery is available for any cake ~ although depending on the distance it may mean that this is not a viable option for you.
Delivery and set up at the venue is advised for wedding cakes. Delivery to local venues is free within 10 miles (Wedding Cakes only)
Set up – If required and not already included with your cake is available at an additional cost from £15
Delivery can be arranged for Celebration Cakes (£10 minimum charge)
Delivery Mileage for all cakes is charged at £1.50 per mile one way ( 0.75p per mile round trip ).
FULL payment (including delivery charge) will be required before any cake can be delivered.
Collection ~ Of course, you are very welcome to collect your cake which will be ready on the day before the event unless otherwise agreed and may be picked up at a pre-arranged time.
Please Note ~ Cakes may be collected at a prearranged time ONLY between the hours of 9.30 ~ 6.30 Mon - Fri. and 9.30 - 11.30 on Saturdays.
Cakes which are ordered for a celebration on a Monday can be collected on the Saturday between the available time slots or on the Monday morning.
Sunday collections are not available as this is my day off.
Monday to Friday ~ 9.30 to 5.30 & (5.30 to 6.30 appointment only)
Saturday mornings ~ 9.30 to 11.30 By prior arrangement only (cake collections and cake consultations).
Although I operate my cake making business from home I do like to keep to set 'opening times' ~ this does not mean that I won't be working on a cake outside of these hours but it does mean that it is very unlikely that I will answer the phone or reply to emails outside of these hours. Of course you can still contact me by email ~ or phone and leave a message and your call will be returned on the next working day.
Please note that opening times ARE subject to change without notice ~
(except pre-arranged appointments where any change of time would be notified)

Have a look at the portion guide to give you some idea of how big a cake you will need to serve your guests. Cake portions cannot be guaranteed as this will depend on the ability of the cake to be cut cleanly and the dexterity of the person cutting the cake.
